We made Bloom Pots to celebrate spring, love and connection. We are planning offer them to our superhero grand(mother) and our beloved godmother!
After we saw a few planters around the house and talked about shapes, colours and texture… we then dove into our project! This was a two session project.
Supplies, you will need:
- Terracotta Pots
- Tempera Paints
- Wooden Sticks
- Beads or Straws
- Clay or Play Dough
First session was about painting the terracotta pots and create some painted leaves and flowers (you can skip this just by cutting shapes out from coloured paper).
Second session was about ‘planting’ the pots. Firstly we used some dyed rice, sand and clay for soil. Then we fixed some wooden sticks as our stems base. In order to add texture, colour and body to our stems we threaded beads, straws and some painted leaves and flowers.
This project can be easily transformed with whatever art supplies you have in hand. We had a good time and we practised some skills and connected with each other! Remember art creations are not just about the final product but the creative moments we share together!
Have a nice time,
